Dr. Chitrakanti Raja Kapadia (Dr Raj) is a General Surgeon with an interest in Colorectal surgery. He was born in Seychelles and raised in Nigeria, India, and the UK. He pursued his medical education at Westminster Medical School and then completed his general surgical training in various centres across England. He also conducted research at Harvard University in the USA.
Dr. Raj's career as a Consultant General Surgeon in Airedale, Yorkshire, involved significant contributions to gastrointestinal surgery, particularly in the field of colorectal surgery. Dr. Raj became renowned for his expertise in this area and took on the responsibility of teaching and mentoring consultant colorectal surgeons in the UK.
In 2011, Dr. Raj relocated to Australia, where he served as the Director of Surgery in Mt Isa before moving to Rockhampton in 2016. There, he worked as a Senior Consultant Surgeon at Rockhampton Base Hospital until he chose to leave the public service to work in the private sector in 2021.
Currently, Dr. Raj practices as a General Surgeon with an interest in colorectal surgery in Rockhampton. He offers services such as laparoscopic biliary and hernia surgery. He is accredited in upper and lower GI endoscopies and offers Open-access Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy procedures.
