Dr Kapadia was born in Seychelles, brought up in Nigeria, India, and the UK. After graduating from Westminster Medical School, he continued his general surgical training in various centres throughout England, and including research in Harvard, USA. Dr Kapadia became was a Consultant General Surgeon in Airedale, Yorkshire. He retired early from the NHS and moved to Australia in 2011. He was Director of Surgery in Mount Isa before relocating to Rockhampton in 2016 where he worked as a Senior Consultant Surgeon until 2022.

Throughout Dr Kapadia’s career, his interests have been in gastrointestinal surgery, particularly colorectal surgery, where he became involved in developing laparoscopic surgery in 1990. Dr Kapadia went on to precept and teach laparoscopic colorectal surgery to consultant colorectal surgeons in the UK.

Dr Kapadia has commenced private practice as a General Surgeon with an interest in colorectal surgery. He has experience in laparoscopic biliary and hernia surgery. He is also accredited in upper and lower GI endoscopies.
