Hillcrest Rockhampton is “Investing in Us”

Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital is tapping into the knowledge of its many visiting medical officers to improve the skills, confidence and knowledge of its theatre teams.

The hospital has signed up specialists, including Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Glenn Gomez, and Anaesthetist, Dr Thiago Moreira to deliver education sessions to junior doctors, nurses and the entire perioperative team.

“The team at Hillcrest firmly believe that continuous learning and collaboration are key to providing high quality patient care,” said Hillcrest Rockhampton DCS, Kristine Kelly.

“Our approach involves empowering doctors to take an active role in educating our surgical teams through doctor-led education sessions within our operating theatres.”

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Glenn Gomez was the first VMO to take part, delivering a session on Orthopaedic Trauma, followed by Anaesthetist, Dr Thiago Moreira who presented on difficult airways and anaphylaxis.
