Ramsay drought helpers assist Central Queensland grazier

Feb 10, 2020

Ramsay pharmacy and hospital team members have rallied together and rolled up their sleeves to help a drought-affected grazier near Rockhampton in Central Queensland.

The charitable convoy travelled 160 kilometres west of Rockhampton to ‘Charlevue’ - a 16,900-hectare property at Dingo - to volunteer their services for the day.

A dozen team members from Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital and Ramsay Pharmacy Rockhampton helped property owner Jane Saunders with some of the jobs she does every day to help deal with the devastating drought, including feeding cattle and checking water troughs.

The team were also joined by a group of diesel mechanics and boiler makers, who helped with servicing machinery, rebuilding cattle feeders, unpacking hay and feeding 300 poddy calves.

The Ramsay team made sure everyone was well-fed, providing morning tea and lunch for all involved who gave up their time to lend a hand.

The Hospital also provided a number of baskets filled with items donated by staff, following bushfires in Yeppoon, Central Queensland where a number of homes were impacted.
